Connect your Gmail account once. EmailSearch requests only the read-only Gmail scope and downloads message content so you can search it offline from the application.

Derived embeddings are created from your message text solely so you can find relevant emails by meaning, not just exact words.
Read-Only by Design
EmailSearch cannot send, modify, label, archive, trash, or delete any of your Gmail messages. Access is strictly limited to reading.
How EmailSearch works
A simple, transparent flow from authorization to searchable results.
Connect Gmail
Authorize read-only access via Google’s standard OAuth consent screen. The application clearly discloses what data will be accessed and stored.
Import messages
Messages are retrieved through the Gmail API, stored as local copies with parsed fields, and indexed for full-text search.
Generate embeddings
Optional embeddings are derived from message text purely to enable semantic search for you — the authorized user.
Search your mail
Use keyword, full-text, or semantic queries against your imported messages. Results stay private to your account.
Privacy & Limited Use compliance
EmailSearch is built for individual productivity. Your Gmail data is used only to provide search features to you.
- Only the Gmail read-only scope (
gmail.readonly) is requested - Message content is stored in the application’s server environment and a SQLite full-text index
- Derived embeddings exist solely to power semantic search for the authorized user
- Embeddings and message data are not used to train or improve any generalized AI model
- You control retention and can request deletion of your data
- We comply with Google’s Limited Use requirements for API Services User Data
